Questions
Anything else? Help covers setting up and using Stentor, or write to support@getstentor.com.
Which Macs does Stentor run on?
Macs with Apple silicon (M1 or newer), on macOS 13 or later. 8 GB of memory works; 16 GB or more is smoother. Intel Macs aren't supported.
How much space does it need?
The voice models are the big part: about 5.3 GB for the basic setup, downloaded the first time you open Stentor. Each extra model is 0.7 to 5 GB, and only downloads if you pick it.
A model download stopped. What now?
Check your connection and choose Try again: what's already downloaded is kept. If the Mac is short of space, untick extras or free some up first.
How do I update Stentor?
Download the new version from this page and drag it into Applications, replacing the old one. Your scripts, voices and settings stay: they're kept outside the app.
How do I uninstall it?
Drag Stentor from Applications to the Trash. To remove everything it made too, delete ~/Library/Application Support/Stentor, and the voice models in ~/.cache/huggingface (other apps may share that folder).
When will Windows and Linux be ready?
They're planned, with no date yet. When they're ready, the download will be right here.
